Crandall Library announces in a statement from Director Kathleen Naftaly that the library will open to curbside service starting June 22nd.
The curbside service will be open along its Glen Street entrance, with staging areas being constructed by library staff once they return to work on June 8th.
June 8th is also when the library will be opening up its external book return vaults to begin accepting the 25,000 books and items that are currently on loan by the library. Those items will need to be cleansed under CDC’s COVID-19 protocol before they are allowed to be taken back out by someone else. During the two week period between the staff return and when curbside service begins, staff will be undergoing safety training.
The library also reassures that late fees will not be issued to those 25,000 items that were out on loan when the library closed its doors in mid-March.
