Last week Governor Cuomo announced that nursing homes in our area can begin allowing visitors, but with limitations.
First, the nursing home must have zero new COVID-19 cases in a 4-week span before they can allow for visitors. Nursing homes will be limited to two visitors per resident, and the visitors will need to be scanned prior to granted access to the facility. Once inside, the visitors will need to wear face masks at all times and maintain social distancing recommendations of 6 feet.
The total number of visitors granted access to the facility will be limited to 10% of the facility’s residents per day.
The resumption of visitation services will allow for senior citizens to reconnect with their loved ones, many whom have been separated from their family since the original shutdown order came from Governor Cuomo back in March.
