The New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) is advising motorists that State Route 50 (Ballston Avenue) will be reduced from two lanes in each direction to one lane weekdays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., beginning Wednesday, Sept. 7, between West Fenlon Street in the City of Saratoga Springs and Hutchins Road to facilitate repaving.
Work, which is weather permitting, will end at 3 p.m. on days on which events are scheduled at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center (SPAC).
Repaving is expected to be completed by the end of September, weather permitting.
Motorists are urged to slow down and drive responsibly in work zones. Fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. Convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver license.
Motorists are reminded to Move Over a lane, if safely possible, or slow down significantly whenever encountering roadside vehicles displaying red, white, blue, amber or green lights, including maintenance and construction vehicles in work zones.
