The World Cinema Series continues at The Strand Theatre in Hudson Falls with a FREE screening of the 2023 critically acclaimed French film, "The Taste Of Things" starring the award winning, world renowned, Juliette Binoche on Tuesday February 17th at 7pm.
Director Tran Anh Hung worked with3-star chef Pierre Gagnaire to ensure authentic 19th-century French cuisine, with chef Michel Nave providing on-set technical training. The actors, including real-life ex-partners Binoche and Magimel, did all the chopping, searing, and plating, often requiring multiple takes and massive amounts of ingredients (e.g., 40 kilos of meat for one scene). The film features no traditional soundtrack, focusing entirely on ambient kitchen sounds. It was shot over two months at Château du Raguin in France.
