Since I was a young child, I had been watching the NHL with my dad. It was a bonding experience for us as we both enjoyed the game of hockey. But over the past 15 years or so, my enthusiasm for the NHL was slowly eroded. To the point where I'm not even paying attention to the playoffs at all. If you had told me that would be the case even a few years ago, I would have called you crazy. But the constant meddler that is the NHL "Commissioner", Gary Bettman has ruined the game for me and a lot of other fans. The hitting and passion hockey always had is gone. The rivalries are non-existent! The fact that the networks who carry the games have to play clips from the 1970's and 1980's prove that the rivalries are dead. Gary Bettman should listen to the old adage. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. He keeps "fixing" it.
