Saturday, July 27th is National Hamburger day. As a recent convert to the carnivore diet, I've been eating my fair share of burgers lately. It's one of those easy things to order to stay on track with that particular diet. In celebration of National Hamburger day, the oldest hamburger joint is located in New Haven, CT called Louis' Lunch. It officially opened in 1895, although the hamburger is said to originate in 1900. But Louis' is still open after 129 years, which is pretty impressive. The city known for the best burgers in the US though is Columbus, OH. If you don't plan on a trip to New Haven, CT or Columbus, OH this weekend, you may want to take advantage of the great hamburger places in upstate NY. Coopers Cave, Downtown Social along with Morgan and Company have always had some great burgers in the Glens Falls area. My favorite is On the Rocks Pub, downtown Granville. Burgers are just the right size, not too big or too small. Give them a try if you're in the area.
