It was on this day on February 21, 1995 that American adventurer and businessman Steve Fossett became the first person to fly solo across the Pacific ocean in a balloon. Fossett set many aviation records through the years. In 2002, Fossett became the first balloonist to circumnavigate the world alone. Three years later, Fossett set another record, completing the first non-stop solo global flight in an airplane. Pretty impressive accomplishments!
