Garth & George Bested by Luke Combs and Zach Bryan

The old saying 'records are made to be broken' came to mind this week when Country Mega Stars Garth Brooks and George Strait were dethroned of two unique honors.

First, Billboard confirms, as of Oct. 6, 2025, Luke Combs topped Garth Brooks as the highest-certified country artist in history by the Recording Industry Association of America. Luke has sold and streamed 168 million units, while Garth is at 162 million units.  *Note : Garth's music is not available on Apple or Spotify. If he changed his mind about partnering with these services, maybe it would boost his numbers? However, Garth Brooks still remains the record holder of the most physical album units sold.

Next Up, American Songwriter confirms Zach Bryan topped George Strait for the largest ticketed concert attendance. Zach played to 112,408 fans on Sept. 27, 2025 at Michigan Stadium besting George's 110,905 people in College Station, Texas.

Luke Combs is now the Highest Selling Country Music Artist and Zach Bryan is now the most attended Country Music Concert in history.  It will be interesting to see who breaks their records years from now. Any bets?
