After a year of searching, a donor was found!
It's an incredible moment for legendary Capital Region chef, Yono Purnomo and his family. In 2023, Purnomo announced he was in end stage renal failure. His condition required him to undergo dialysis treatment at home for several hours each day.
On Tuesday, Yono's son Dominick (also a successful restaurateur), posted on Facebook that his father had undergone a successful kidney transplant on Tuesday. Both the donor, who has remained anonymous and Yono are recovering at New York Presbyterian hospital.
Please keep my father and his incredibly selfless donor in your prayers. It is a long road to recovery.
All our best to Yono and the Purnomo family as well as the Angel Donor!
