'I know it is time'
Albany’s beloved meteorologist, Steve Caporizzo, has announced he will retire from his role at NEWS10 ABC on June 30, 2025. Caporizzo, a trusted weather expert for over 35 years, shared this heartfelt news with viewers, reflecting on his storied career and plans for the future.
I’ve lived my dream forecasting weather since I was eight.
Starting his career in radio in Brattleboro, Vermont, in 1980, he later moved to TV in Bangor, Maine, in 1983. For decades, he’s been a part of households across Upstate New York, delivering forecasts with expertise and passion.
Post-retirement, Caporizzo plans to dedicate more time to his wife, Lisa, and their shared passion for helping homeless pets through Pet Connection, a program he vows to continue. While leaving TV weather, his legacy as a community advocate and meteorologist will undoubtedly endure.
