The old glove factory in Amsterdam closed for good in 2010
The Fownes Glove Factory was built in 1926 and was fully operational until the 1950's when the company moved it's manufacturing over seas.
Through the years, the giant factory became a landmark in the Amsterdam area. Being that it was one of the oldest industrial buildings in the area, at one time it played a major role in the local economy as it supplied numerous jobs for a number of generations. It also provided huge support for the development and growth for the surrounding community.
Let's take a look around, shall we?
